Re: Dragons
What real use is there for an animal this large to die so quickly? It defies the stuff that you all learnt in Environmental Studies.GEOvanne wrote:they dont die at a young age, they just age quickly.
Re: Dragons
Ye plus, I have one question. What's the rati of a human year to dragon years? like a dog to humans is 7:1, i.e. 7 dog years make one human years.

Re: Dragons
That would be very difficult to determine since he already said:
To plot it on a scale, then try to find a ratio would 'nearly' be impossible.
GEOvanne wrote:they can live anywhere from less than a year to a few hundred years.

Re: Dragons
no snyper, not the large dragons, its the small ones that have the short lifespan (though some live as long as big dragons), why do people automatcally think of giant monsters when they think of dragon? they come in all sizes.
and some large european dragons tend to age slower as they get older. so its like they grow up really fast and take long to get really old.
oh, and cat years are the same as dog years 7:1
and the size of the creature dosnt matter about the whole economics things you learned snyper.
the reason wh the triop dies so quickly is because they are originally from desserts (even though they live in water). when it rains, they hatch grow quickly, reproduce then die. they lay eggs just before the pond dries up. that way they continue to live on. (the eggs can go more than four years without water, an actually need a period of driness in order to hatch when introduced to water again).
so mabey if a large dragon was in a situation kinda like this, then living shortly would make sence

Re: Dragons
At no tiime, have I mentioned anything about the size of these beasts being propoortional to thier actual age. I'll just leave both yourself and Sykotiq to battle it out.
Re: Dragons
Why aren't there any discoveries on Dragon remains (such as bones and other skeletal structures), when there are museums loaded with those od Dinasaurs?
Re: Dragons
okay question with the asian dragons...if they have small wings do they actually perform some function, as it can they use it to fly? and um Drakes...the description seems like they would be very clumsy creatures i mean, no legs or wings?....how do they get around properly like that??
Re: Dragons
k, about the small wing asain dragons, they either serve to help in gliding, or just rudimary parts.
rudimary parts are explained in evolution, saying that the animal evolved and some parts that it no longer needed were left back, and can be removed with affecting the animal.
lots of animals have these, humans for example: tonsils and appendix.
some pythons have leg bones for hind legs
drakes, no they arent clumsy, think about a human with no hands. of mabey a t-rex, their hands were of no use to them and they ot along just fine.
in tremors aftershock (a movie), are some creatures with just hind legs and no other limbs.

Re: Dragons
i saw tremors...that pic is wrong or something...they were like worms they didnt have legs
i sooo knew you were gonna say rudimentary parts but i guess to really know if this is so I would have to go into the realm of the history of the non-existent dragon, which would be boss now that i think of it

Re: Dragons
Geo, you forgot to mention that this form of evoloution was still not complete (at the time all that chaos was going on).GEOvanne wrote:in tremors aftershock (a movie), are some creatures with just hind legs and no other limbs
There isn't anything wrong with the photo. The 'worms', were the original 'Graboids' (in the first movie). The creature shown in the pic, is the evolved off-spring from the original. These creatures now had the ability to hunt by detecting 'heat' (thier ancestors couldn't do that). The evolved creatures also survived and moved about on the ground's surface, while the ancestors burrowed underground.tabooXchanz wrote:i saw tremors...that pic is wrong or something...they were like worms they didnt have legs
Re: Dragons
what is it wit u an evolution?
its not an evolutionary form, its the next stage in thier life cycle, dont you know anything? they are all called graboids.
the 'worms' and dirt dragons, the next stage is a screamer, and the last stage is
the ass-blaster (yes, their called that)

Re: Dragons
So does this continue about dragons. I haven't read the top few but what is your view on "Leviathan", this is the creature (possibly sea dragon) stated in the Bible that is supposedly to still rome the earth. The verse and the book I have yet to remember.

Re: Dragons
Geo!!! You must watch the movie again. You will notice that in each case they evolved into better adapting species (this makes the graboids harder to be killed by those folks). You also should realize that the off-spring were already evolved in the mother's womb in many scenes of the movie. Likewise you also need to realize that there were many of these graboids that actually died still looking like those worm things that tabooXchanz was talking about earlier (this disproved your 'next stage' theory). It is also illogical to think that these things (as you are implying) went from being large 380lbs* creatures, to small 50lbs* creatures.
*These values came from an actual 'making the set: Tremors2:Aftershock'.

Re: Dragons
you must watch the movie again.
they DID NOT EVOLVE. its called metamorphisis. how would evolution take place that fast?
and how many movies did you watch? there are 4 of them, go watch them

Re: Dragons
There is a 5th one (which hasn't yet been translated). I'll try to download it, and give you a copy whenever possible. I've seen all 4, since I rented 'em on VHS years ago.

Re: Dragons
okay...the tremors creature does not really support your answer , those are definitely not real and I'm sure they didn't really look into if it could be biologically possible in all angles, they just wanted something to add real suspense to the movie.....it all depends on how exactly the drake's body is constructed,if it allows for them to get around easily without the hands...the t-rex did have a lot of problems because of it almost unusable hands and where their eyes were situated....GEOvanne wrote:

WOW the leviathan, I don't remember reading about that in the bible before, very awesome, according to wiki its some sort of sea monster, well it isn't just mentioned in one bible verse but it's actually mentioned in many places Job 3:8 & 41:1-34, Psalms 74:14 & 04:24,25, Isaiah 27:1,other places as u can imagine....well I don't think any are still around because according to the bible God created the male and female Leviathan but then salted the female Leviathan for the righteous for if they were to procreate the world could not stand before them...it wasn't actually a dragon-like thing...some artists depict it as such, but according to wiki it was more like a snake-like or croc-like thingtaikenzor wrote:So does this continue about dragons.
