ermm...Valentine's Day? Valentine__s_day_2008_by_alltimelowsx

I personally think Valentine's is a null day, I mean "what the frigg", why designate a day for lovers to umm love each other (excuse me i thought 'lovers' implies the people are already in love), lovers are in love everyday already I mean what the hell is the relevance of it...most times instead of being this day where you are supposedly to share your love with someone who is usually someone you already normally share your love with, there are those who think because they don't have a so-called valentine it means that they are ugly or not loveable or other things like that which are just plain wrong, it unnecessarily lowers alot of individual's self esteem and makes them sad....who the heck even came up with the idea of even designating this day??? I mean "come onnnn..."

Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14. It is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

well i guess other forum admins would wish members happy valentine's day and such but I mean, I can't bring myself to waste time on making a newsletter for the sole purpose of this null day...so I just said out of curtesy I would tell yall right here...so umm

Laughing no shanique I'm just dissing that so called stigma attachedto the day...nothin is wrong with the 14th except those drones who go on and on about valentine's day...only people who have their bday on vday can call it their special day Smile

The greeting card industry, needs your money. They need you to waste your money on thier greeting cards, chocolate confectionery, roses, and all that other junk. It actually makes sense though, because sometimes we 'kinda' forget about that significant other as we go along with the hassles of our daily activities. Unfortunately though, sometimes we miss the true purpose of this particular day, and think of it as merely the exchange of material items, and other activities.

Geo, I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out.
tabooXchanz, newsletters are still fun to read nonetheless,
Niqui, happy belated birthday and may you live to see many more.

I usually don't really like buying a greeting card unless i'm pressed for time because I feel its impersonal and if I'm giving someone a card I'd like it to be personal so I make it myself and write it my own words and do my own designs....if you really love someone how can you forget them? I get the purpose of the day but you should love your significant other and show them appreciatio everyday and not just the one day.....lol i guess the newsletters might be fun but I just didn't want to do one for valentine's day, cus i thnk it would be a waste of time, I would have only done it for shanique if anything cus it was her birthday

my mum told me that valentine's day is the day that persons celebrate the love and togetherness of our family and friends not lovers. i don't know who got the idea of lovers given out gifts n other foolishness (y would one want to pay so much on an items like that). well, its given valentine's day a bad name.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but I think its the same with birthdays (Niqui, I'm not aiming this at you). Every year we celebrate the same milestone (annual anniversary) with expensive gifts and festivities. I'm sure some of you will feel the same towards mother/father's day as well.

Geo, forget about the card man. Just be happy that you have a lot to be thankfull for. Look at the flip-side: at least you have chanz to beat her up for you if necessary. In the end, you still have the oportunity to find that perfect friend for yourself.

*Between you and I, did this card have anything to do with dragons?
