Hi people, first of all, I am not dead.... but I am very very busy with school and commissions (and works that are 95% finished but that don't please me so I'm reworking them again and again... I have already spent 136 hours -personal record!- on the next painting I'm gonna post, hopefully I can post it this weekend... this is going to be a surprise )


About this painting :

I had promised lots of people I would write a tutorial a loooong time ago. I have finally nearly done it (I'm still writing it, but here's the base image, I have recorded all the painting process using SnapzProX, I may post it this weekend)

It has been challenging because I wanted to make her look half Asian and half european, which is not as easy as I thought (I don't know if I have succeded in it, but I like her eyes and expression) and also because it is a very unusual color scheme for me. Her face is painted (she is meant to look a bit like a young Geisha, although it is my own adaptation) so her skin may look unusual.
I will make the videos available on youtube as soon as my computer has finished encoding them.

Oh, and Hanagumori means "late spring where blossom haze
" (thank you very much to *gohodoshi for the translation!!! )

For people who had sent me notes ages ago and I have still not replied (I'm so sorry guys, I really swear I'll read my mails and notes more often in the future ), could you please send them to me again? I have received LOT of spam so I have given up reading them all

By the way, the contest is still open and please don't ask me if your entry is ok for the theme or don't ask any other question, you're FREE TO DO ANYTHING YOU WANT as long as you find a connection to the theme (it must be a FRESH deviation created for this contest only), ALL medium are allowed! (even the ones you're not thinking about. Making a snowman is an option). I'm just trying to imagine that outfit retaining all that heat.
Unfortunately, the shadow formed below the nose, conflicts with the shadows formed ath e sides as well (think about yourself facing a mirror illuminated about 45 degrees away).

u are such a critic...i see nothing exactly wrong with the placement of the shadow...im sure she has done studies on shadows....it depends on many factors where it falls so u cant b sure wat shes tryin to portray but u have ur opinion........i just luv it

Am I the only one who finds this thing scary, but seriously, it's an interesting piece that makes me think that ppl have way too much time on their hands. Flawless.

its not scary, its BEAUTY, yea Dianae has TIME lol and PATIENCE

its scary and beatiful at the same time, and thats what makes it art. and i also see dragon in this.

all that clothes would make her hot, as it is silk and the mountainous areas of china wouldnt be hot.
and i dont see anything worng with the shadow created by the nose. and its more like 46 degrees away
