Isis is a goddess in Egyptian mythology. She was most prominent mythologically as the wife and sister of Osiris and mother of Horus, and was worshipped as the archetypal wife and mother.
Her name literally means "(female) of throne", that is, "Queen of the throne", which was portrayed by the emblem worn on her head, that of a throne. However, the hieroglyph of her name originally meant "(female) of flesh", i.e. mortal, and she may simply have represented deified, historical queens.

This picture is the first piece of the series "Gods of the Ennead", the mother goddess ISIS
Here goes the symbolisms:Thick lips & big breasts represent fertility.I wanted her to have a strong and fearful expression on the face because of the things she went through (read the article for more info).Wings are one of the outstanding elements of her representation.Massive usage of gold is to make it look like a typical ancient egypt picture,since she herself represent egypt.
The leather glove is...something i wanted to add i like the controversy LOL

I just love this piece especially how the artist gets the detail on the eyes and lips and the jewelry...i've never conceptualised isis to look like this but i could definately picture her like this now

Can someone please give me a rough estimate of how many layers were used to do this? The whole thing, is extensively crisp.

I'm weighing in the whole thing at about 230 layers. The pallete of colours was beatifully selected. Had it been landscape, it would have made a superb desktop wallpaper.

it actually is landscape but the whole image couldnt fit in the panel...u can check it out the ful thing at deviant....i actually haave it as my desktop wallpaper now

It had occored to me earlier this afternoon, that the 'feminin figure' is this piece, would not have been able to obtain the 'silvery' glove at this time, as such a thing could not have been available then.

so i realised just yesterday that desert - of - seth did mention her use of the glove, i actually posted her comments under the pic, if u read u'll see she said she put the leather glove because she likes the controversy
